Refashion at NYC x Reuse Community Fest

Peace Community,

New York City Department of Sanitation’s donateNYC Program in collaboration with the NYC Center for Materials Reuse curated their very first NYC x Reuse Community Fest in June at the at the Metropolitan Pavilion.

DonateNYC is an essential part of NYC’s zero waste initiative, helping New Yorkers reach the goal of sending zero waste to landfills. By donating and reusing goods instead of discarding them, New Yorkers can greatly reduce waste, conserve energy and resources, save money, and help provide jobs and human services for those in need.

Day 1 of NYC x Reuse (June 21) is a full-day public conference including four headline panels Give Goods, Find Goods, Do Good and Reuse Futures.

Featuring high-profile speakers in themes of  food recovery, textile reuse, reuse & social services, and the future of reuse; hands-on workshops, activations, samples, and demos of reuse from all across industries.

Day 2 of NYC x Reuse (June 22) is a half-day showcase of the nonprofit reuse sector in NYC, featuring 30 donateNYC Partner organizations, all selling secondhand items, accepting donations, organizing demonstrations and leading reuse-oriented activities.img_1710-1
